Provides more than 120 Gbps of cable-based core capacity with optional 24/7 surveillance and monitoring.
- Rapid Internet gateway
Offers a rapid and dedicated Internet gateway to mainland China and Taiwan with approximately 2 Gbps of capacity from Hong Kong.
- Trans-Pacific and trans-Atlantic diversely routed IP Backbone
Delivers over 72.8 Gbps trans-Pacific and 4.9 Gbps trans-Atlantic capacity on fibre cable with no dependency on satellite.
- High capacity international connections
Connect Telstra’s IP points of presence in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
- Private peering arrangements
Offers access to over 4.6 Gbps of private peering across Asia, over 55.7 Gbps in the US and more than 22.4 Gbps in major network access points around the world.
- Three major US hubs
Major hubs located in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and New York.
- Gigabit Ethernet connections
Available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including the London Internet Exchange.
- Wide range of connectivity options
A wide range of connectivity options depending on the location of the site include DSL, fractional T-1/E-1, T-1/E-1 to OC-3/STM-1, OC-12/STM-4, ATM and Fast Gigabit Ethernet.

Telstra offers its Global Internet service in three formats:
- Telstra Global Internet Direct
A truly dedicated service, ideal when differentiation of mission critical traffic is required.
- Telstra Global Internet Direct Economy *
A cost-effective option for corporate customers who need to operate applications that are less sensitive to delays, such as email and web browsing.
- Global Internet Extension *
Robust DSL-based IP coverage in over 130 countries, providing a comprehensive and cost-effective option for back-up or remote site connectivity.
