Global Ethernet Private Line

Telstra’s global Ethernet Private Line (EPL) service gives you all the scalability, privacy and performance you need to meet your business requirements – now and in the future.
Ethernet Private Line

MEF Certified Compliant

Why pay for what you don’t use? With Telstra International ‘s Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) certified Global EPL service you can gradually expand your network in small and affordable increments – only paying for the capacity you need as and when you need it. Available in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America, global EPL is ideal if your organisation requires dedicated bandwidth, greater data privacy, or both. You can be confident that bandwidth is reserved specifically for you, and ‘soft’ upgrades are achieved with minimal service disruption.

Delivered over Telstra’s extensive cable infrastructure using SDH technology, global EPL operates at the OSI model layer 2, enabling you to retain control of your network routing and manage your own security. The highly flexible and transparent service can be set up in both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations, with a variety of protection/restoration options ensuring a high level of resilience, backed by service level agreements.

Part of a comprehensive portfolio of next-generation Ethernet services, Telstra’s global EPL is both simple and cost efficient to deploy. The ability to buy inexpensive Ethernet equipment for your WAN or to re-use existing Ethernet equipment, coupled with cost-effective Ethernet local access options, reduce both operational and capital expenditure whilst maintaining business flexibility.

Telstra now delivers MEF-compliant Ethernet Network Interface Devices (NIDs) as standard on all customer sites and Ethernet Media Convertors (EMCs) can be used where Ethernet access circuits into the customer premises are not available.
