The event was attended by customers and stakeholders of Telstra International and afforded the opportunity for Telstra to thank customers, as well as to gain valuable insight into the issues confronting their businesses. The business program, titled Better Communication, Better Business, also provided a stimulating environment for discussion about innovation and the future of the industry.
Tarek Robbiati, Group Managing Director Telstra International, addressed the guests who were delighted to hear his vision for the business.
Looking to the future
Part of the four day program included a conference hosted at the Australian Pavilion within the Expo. Dr Hugh Bradlow, Telstra’s CTO, shared his insights about the telecommunications industry and business communications in the 21st century. Hugh facilitated a lively discussion regarding business on the move, enabling applications, infrastructure, applications for business, and the impact of online engagement and social networking.
As silver sponsors of the Australian Pavilion, Telstra was also able to provide a VIP tour, hosted by Commissioner General, Ms Lyndall Sachs. In addition, the company’s pioneering role in the telecommunications market was reflected in the Australian Pavilion which promoted a theme of opportunity leading to visionary technology.
Shanghai – the perfect host city
Shanghai and the World Expo - with the theme Better City, Better Life - was an ideal platform for the development of strategic partnerships and networking amongst attendees.
