Andrew Morawski, President and CEO of Telstra International, Americas believes the international networking business is becoming an even larger market with many US-based businesses expanding their presence overseas. “We are seeing new opportunities on a daily basis, even with the economic slowdown.”
Telstra International’s latest major investment in two large cable systems, the Asia America Gateway and Endeavour, directly connects South East Asia and the US, setting Telstra apart from other providers. In line with the wider Telstra expansion and growth in global capacity the decision was made to grow the Americas sales team to take advantage of the growing market demand and ongoing investments. The Americas sales organization has also been restructured (Enterprise, Indirect Sales and Service Provider channels) into East and West territories.
The sales channels are now be headed by two experienced Sales Directors – Damian McCabe and Maria Ramos. McCabe, located out of Austin Texas, has 18 years of sales & technology background and now manages the team in the Western US. Ramos, located in New York City, has 15 years of sales & technology experience and now heads sales for the Eastern Region.
Since Ramos joined Telstra several years ago, she has managed direct sales, alternate channels and Service Providers: “I look forward to working with our new colleagues as they bring great enthusiasm and a lot of fresh ICT and international network experience, as well as our ‘old hands’ that continue to grow our market share.”
Damian believes “The time is right now, more than ever, to get international solutions in place enabling companies to grow their businesses, decrease their expenses and make significant productivity improvements. By adding sales strength to support the Enterprise, Reseller and Service Provider channels Telstra will better reach a US market that is robust, growing and requiring connectivity into Asia.”
