Focussed at gaining unique insights into the challenges and issues CIOs were facing across the Asia Pacific region, an initial desktop research phase was quickly followed with an industry survey conducted with over 200 regionally based CIOs covering the strategies they were adopting to increase productivity, capabilities in use and those being considered, plus perceptions on the impact of changes currently occurring in the ICT environment.
Empowered with this actionable insight Telstra International sponsored five Executive Roundtable sessions leading with Japan, followed by Hong Kong, China, Singapore and with the planned concluding event scheduled for the end of May in India.
Open exchange
The purpose of each event was first and foremost to create an opportunity for senior business leaders from various industries to meet and hear IDC share their latest end user research insights and furthermore to create an opportunity to participate in a facilitated discussion on the game changing impact of managed network services. This included a brief overview from Telstra International on how these are helping organisations seize new growth opportunities, brought to life with inspiring case study examples delivered with the kind support of existing Telstra International customer speakers from the IT Services, Real Estate and Financial Services industries.
Hot topics
During roundtable discussions delegates were encouraged to join in and share their views on a number of ‘hot’ topics, prioritised by delegates nominating their preferences in their registrations for the event. Topics included:
- The role of network services in ICT ‘big bets’ for 2010 and beyond
- How innovation in ICT delivery models can be harnessed to drive business transformation
- The changing economic conditions on ICT investments in Asia
- Best practices and case studies in cloud computing and virtualisation
