Telstra International targets mid-market customers with Asia expansion ambition

Partners with PSideo to deliver consolidated IT Services in Asia through its globally scalable, resilient and available network

Telstra International, a leading global provider of managed network solutions, announced today that it is targeting mid-market customers in Europe looking to expand into Asia. In conjunction with PSideo, a Swiss based privately owned global IT services organisation, Telstra International is providing network services to deliver consolidated, centralised IT services to their European customers.

As a result of their joint cooperation, Telstra and PSideo announced a significant multi-country win in Asia with MCI (www.mci-group.com), an independent, global communications and event management provider headquartered in Geneva and expanding into Asia.

Together, Telstra International and PSideo provide MCI with the following benefits:

  • The capability to rapidly scale and accommodate global customers with international requirements in a consistent manner from any location in the world.
  • Easier integration of new MCI offices in Asia through a Singapore hub which is linked to its Geneva headquarters, ensuring that critical collaboration technologies, such as, unified communications, CRM, finance and customised events management applications are available throughout the organisation.
  • Use of high speed, secure Internet connectivity with minimal latency which increases operational productivity benefits for customer communication and staff training programmes.

According to Patrick Stuto, Chief Executive Officer for PSideo, many European companies including mid-market players are tapping growth opportunities in Asia by setting up new branch offices or acquiring local players. “The speed of integrating different Asian branch offices with existing operations is critical to enabling growth. Our relationship with Telstra International allows customers like MCI to access a cost-efficient centralised IT operation which provides them with the ability to accelerate the roll out and replication of new technologies at the data centre, using optimised international connectivity and reach to bring immediate availability of these services to all of their branch offices,” Mr Stuto said.

Harry Singh, Vice President of Enterprise Sales for Telstra International in Southeast Asia said that the deal with PSideo helped to give mid-market customers in Europe and the US access to scalable, global IT services powered by high-speed, resilient and robust connectivity throughout Asia.

“2010 is shaping up as the turnaround year for businesses. With marginal changes to IT budgets, mid-market companies can unleash their growth plans by using Telstra International’s network services to build scalable, flexible ICT models to deliver IT services into new offices in Asia,” Mr Singh said.
