David Thodey takes up position as Telstra Chief Executive Officer

Telstra announced that David Thodey has today taken up his role as the company's chief executive officer following the return to the United States of former CEO Sol Trujillo.
Mr Trujillo had agreed to stay at Telstra until 30 June, but the appointment of an internal candidate as the new CEO meant a smooth and swift transition was possible.
Mr Thodey will be replaced as Group Managing Director (GMD) of Telstra Enterprise and Government by Ms Nerida Caesar, who will take leave until she begins in her new role on June 9. Ms Caesar was recently appointed GMD of Telstra Wholesale.
In accordance with the ASX Listing Rules, a copy of Mr Thodey's contract will be lodged with ASX when it is finalised.
Glenn Osborne has been appointed Acting GMD, Telstra Wholesale, effective immediately. Mr Osborne was previously Executive Director of Telstra Wholesale Sales.
