Reachout - the latest news, views and analysis from Telstra International |
 |
Welcome from Drew
Welcome to the March edition of Reachout, our monthly online newsletter.
As the Winter Olympics have now closed and the results celebrated, I’d like to take this opportunity to celebrate some of our own recent successes here at Telstra International.
You may wonder what the success of the Winter Olympics has to do with Telstra International, but it is a tremendous example of how our people work together to deliver outstanding technical solutions. Telstra International broadcast seamless live coverage of the Games to Australia, giving 21 million people the opportunity to cheer on their favourite athletes – I am really pleased to share the details with you about how we did this below.
Further success came as Telstra International was selected as a finalist for a Green IT Award in the ‘Environmental Project of the Year Private Sector’ category following our ongoing work with the World Wildlife Fund. We are extremely pleased to be recognised as finalists in what is becoming an increasingly important matter for many organisations.
In this edition we also continue our profile series of the emerging markets within Asia Pacific with an in-depth look at Indonesia, a country whose diverse geographical layout has had a direct impact on the development of its ICT.
Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to echo recent comments from our CEO David Thodey: at Telstra we remain 100% committed to delivering customer service excellence and to meeting your needs. This is one of our key priorities and I look forward to bringing you continued news of our innovations and successes in this area as the year progresses.
Yours sincerely
Drew Kelton
